Now that the 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards (MMVAs) are over, we wanted to know how people felt about this year’s award show. What did they like? What did they dislike? What did people think about the host, Miley Cyrus? In order to find out the goods, we hit the streets of Toronto and asked people what they thought. Here’s what they said:

Throughout the ages, some real men have donned the moustache. Tom Selleck used one to solve crimes and break hearts, Billy Dee Williams decided to use his to save the universe, Ron Jeremy showed us how to be promiscuous with one, and Burt Reynolds did numerous beer runs with his on. Yes, in its day the ‘stache saw some good times. Now, unfortunately, the ‘stache doesn’t pack the same punch that it used to—especially with the ladies. So, we wanted to know if there’s any hope for the ‘stache. Can it make a comeback? Do ladies out there still like it? Here’s what we found out.

Thanks to the internet, websites like Hype Machine, Last FM, and YouTube are constantly delivering the goods when it comes to finding new music. Even when it comes to the news or the weather, people are only a few clicks away from the latest info. Then there are smartphones, like the iPhone, that offer all kinds of apps or podcasts to satisfy any music, news, weather, or entertainment needs with simply a touch. With all these great tools available to us, it makes us wonder whether the radio still matters to people, or is the radio something we listen to only because we’re forced to (i.e. stuck in an elevator, at work, or driving)? In order to get an idea of how Torontonians feel about the radio these days, we decided to interview a few people to find out. Here’s what they said:

For this survey, we interviewed 52 people: 24 males and 28 females. The people we interviewed for this survey were, roughly, age 16-26.

Not a lot of people understand skateboarding. Chances are, unless you spend some time riding a skateboard yourself, you’ll never truly understand the culture, the lifestyle, or the freedom it brings. We took some time to meet with skateboarders on the streets of Toronto and ask them one simple question, “WHY DO YOU LIKE SKATEBOARDING?” Here’s what they said:

Jesse: Quickest way around TO. Plus, I can fuckin’ beat ppl with it.

Tom: Defying gravity with a piece of wood.

Greg: It’s individual. You don’t have to follow rules.

James: I like the individuality and the freedom.

Dan: Everything man. I have a good time doing it.

Vincent: The freedom.

Rob: You don’t have to be good at it. It’s like freedom.

Leanne: The culture. The freedom.

Matt: I just like doing it.

Dylan: I love cruising around downtown. It beats taking the subway or walking.
